800x600mm In honour of Cecil, a 13 year old Southwest African lion who was an attraction in the Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe, being studied by the Uni. of Oxford. On 1 July 2015, Cecil was wounded with an arrow shot by Walter Palmer, an American dentist and recreational big game hunter. Palmer allegedly tracked the wounded lion for 40 hours before shooting it with a rifle. Palmer had a permit and was not charged with any crime. IUCN Status: Vulnerable
